Data and retention
Your workspace contains private research, contact evidence and correspondence. Public pages show only approved listing fields. Signed-in members can see your display name and member profile only when you opt in. Connection requests share your message with the recipient; your login email is not disclosed. Introduction requests go to the named product owner.
Export and deletion
Use Account & data to export your workspace or delete your account. Use the Research editor to delete a prospect. Deletion erases research and message content; delivery identifiers and do-not-contact records remain to prevent repeated contact. Account deletion also removes public listings and revokes sessions. Transaction references remain for payment reconciliation. A prospect deletion also clears the workspace’s AI proposals because they may quote the deleted evidence.
Retention
Research remains until deleted. Operational cleanup expires authentication tokens and stale rate-limit records, and removes discovery searches older than 90 days unless a result is linked to an active prospect. Local backup retention defaults to 30 days. Deleted records are replayed from an independent deletion journal after restore. Operators must apply the same retention to any off-site copies.
Research and billing
Project research sends your brief and public discussion excerpts to OpenAI and your search query to Hacker News search. Research is saved in your private workspace. Usage counts and budget reservations are retained to enforce plan limits; account deletion erases report content and connection messages. Polar receives checkout and payment identifiers to process purchases. Payment records remain for reconciliation and applicable retention duties.
External providers
Explicit actions may send relevant data to configured search, enrichment, AI or email providers. Deleting data here does not remove messages already delivered to recipients, downloaded exports or provider-held records. Ask the service operator to handle provider-side requests.
Product votes
Upvotes store your account identifier and the listing you selected. Public pages show aggregate totals, not voter identities. Remove a vote by clicking it again. Account deletion removes your votes. Upvotes do not change visit-based homepage rankings.
Board measurements
The board records aggregate page views and short-lived, salted network-address hashes to limit repeated listing visits. Raw IP addresses are not stored in ranking records. Ranking records are pruned during collection after seven days; server restarts change the hash salt. Counts are estimates, not verified unique people or social-network reach.
